Ceuta considera «no recomendado» recurrir a un decreto «sensible» por la distribución de menores

The government spokesperson of Ceuta, Alejandro Ramírez (PP), believes that it is not recommended for autonomous communities to try to overturn the decree law approved in Congress to modify Article 35 of the elder law, as it is so sensitive and important.
«The law must comply with this,» said Ramírez at a press conference on Tuesday, following the Board of Directors meeting, where he was asked about the refusal of up to six autonomous regions of the Popular Party to accept the mandatory distribution of foreign minors when any Spanish territory is of significant size.
Ramírez stated that each region «can use the mechanisms that set the rules to oppose the royal decree law,» although he emphasized that, since the start of the Media massive debate, the local administration of Ceuta has placed territories to understand the situation in Ceuta.
«If some do not agree, they have the right to apply the procedures they consider appropriate. What I believe is that, ultimately, the application of this document is a law and all communities within the legislature will have to apply it, unless there is a sentence that changes something in this regard,» he said.
The spokesperson referred to the role of the prosecutor’s office. «It is always far from the fact that the rules and all legal precepts are complied with, understanding that, in these cases, development should follow the same line,» he said.
Alejandro Ramírez defended the position of the Ceuta Government Board and the local PP in favor of the reform of the foreign law. «From the very beginning, we have advocated that the national government should implement any measure to ensure a fair distribution of minors in different autonomous communities,» he said.
The spokesperson reported that the city’s president, Juan Vivas (PP), had been in contact with the Minister of Territorial Policy, Ángel Víctor Torres, and the Minister of Youth and Childhood, Sira Rego, since the approval of the Royal Decree in Congress.
Ramírez also mentioned the upcoming conference in the youth and children sector, scheduled for April 28th. During her last visit to Ceuta, Sira Rego announced that the meeting would take place in the autonomous city, a possibility that the local spokesperson rejected, as they had not received any notification from the national government.
«We hope, obviously, that it will be as soon as possible, mainly due to the general situation that our city continues to face,» he said. According to Ramírez, the children’s area has already used 75% of emergency resources, and saturation exceeds 400%.
