Castilla-La Mancha distribuirá ayuda entre los productores de girasol ambientales

The Sunflower Plant (Helianthus Annuus) is an emblematic plant that not only adorns the fields with its vibrant yellow color but also plays a crucial role in sustainable agriculture and is a valuable ally when it comes to land management and sustainability.
The Sunflower, known for its unique ability to adapt to a wide range of climatic conditions and soil types, is commonly used in rotation with other crops to enrich the soil and improve its structure.
Moreover, the powerful rotating root of the Sunflower acts as a natural soil decompacter, breaking hard layers and allowing for better absorption of water and nutrients for subsequent crops.

Manufacturers of environmental flowers in Castilla-La Mancha will receive assistance of 19.8 million euros over the next few years, distributed at a rate of almost five million euros per year until 2028.
The aid per hectare will be 130 euros, with a commitment to maintain the crop and environmental practices for four years. Requirements for access include dry land for Sunflower cultivation, dedicated areas of dry soil, or spontaneous vegetation islands.
Minister of Agriculture, Animal Development, and Rural Affairs, Julián Martínez Lizán, revealed these details in Cuenca during the event "New Environmental Flower Assistance as an Alternative to PAC 2025" organized by GlobalCaja. He emphasized that Cuenca and Guadalajara will receive the majority of this assistance, as they have the highest number of beneficiaries in each aid category.
