The Bank of Spain closed the 2024 financial year with zero profits, after offsetting the operational losses recorded at 7,549 million euros with the application of financial risk provisions, as shown in its annual accounts, published today. These temporary operational losses occurred, like last year, due to the change in the 2022 monetary policy to combat inflation. The policy of supplying and distributing the result in previous years allowed the Bank of Spain to have sufficient financial cushions both in 2024 and in 2023, when supplies for financial risks allowed for the offsetting of 6,612 million.
