The president of the community in Madrid, Isabel Díaz Ayuso, stated that the issue this Tuesday will be mobility after the country has suffered and indicated that the «maximum deployment» of local police, national police, and the civil guard are expected to ensure security.
«I believe that the issue tomorrow is not security. Tomorrow is a mobility issue, as it was throughout the day. The security issue arises when night falls and everything is dark. I don’t have criteria there, nor do I claim to have all the answers,» she said in an interview on «Telecinco,» as reported by Europe Press.
Ayuso pointed out that it is within her power to open schools and institutes on Tuesday so that families in the Madrid community «are calm and can move forward,» as well as to recover transit in the Madrid metro «as soon as possible.» «We will see if in the first hour it will be in full operation,» she added.
«Now it is important for people to be at home as much as possible, for the security forces, in which we always trust, to be on the streets, ensuring and providing security. Stores can open, but whether the demand will return. This is on an hourly basis. We cannot know now or the losses that will exist.
