Apple Music y Universal Music Group anuncian la terapia de sonido

Apple Music joins forces with Universal Music Group (UMG) to introduce sound therapy, an innovative audio wellness collection designed to help listeners achieve clearer focus, deeper relaxation, and better sleep.1

«For many years, enhancing the role of music in health and wellness has been a strategic priority for UMG, tied to potentially significant business opportunity, as well as something our President and CEO, Sir Lucian, and the entire management team are passionate about,» said Michael Nash, UMG’s Vice President and Digital Director. «Given Apple’s leadership at the intersection of health and technology, the launch of sound therapy is a significant validation of our innovative, scientific endeavors.»

«Every day, people around the world make Apple Music part of their daily routine, and we’ve seen incredible engagement around our personalized playlists and the new Apple Music Chill Radio,» said Rachel Newman, Co-Head of Apple Music. «Now, with sound therapy, we are proud to collaborate with UMG and Sollos to bring a new Apple Music listening experience, one that is grounded in artistry, shaped by innovation, and designed to support well-being.»

Available exclusively on Apple Music, Sound Therapy combines familiar and beloved subscriber songs with special sound waves designed to enhance daily routines while maintaining the artist’s original vision. Supported by scientific research and fueled by UMG’s own audio technologies, sound therapy harnesses the power of sound waves, psychoacoustics, and cognitive science to help listeners relax or focus the mind.

The collection was developed by a team of producers, scientists, and audio engineers at Sollos, an innovative musical kindness partnership incubated at UMG’s offices in London. Sound therapy features extended, instrumental, and reimagined versions of popular pieces by beloved artists like Imagine Dragons, Katy Perry, Kacey Musgraves, Ludovico Einaudi, Aurora, Jhené Aiko, Chelsea Cutler, and Jeremy Zucker, offering a premium listening experience.

Sound therapy features three categories: focus, relaxation, and sleep. Songs are enhanced with auditory rhythms or color noise to help foster specific brain responses. Gamma waves and white noise combination, a blend akin to each sound frequency, aids in focus; Theta waves can help relax; and delta waves and pink noise, a deeper, softer variation akin to rain or wind, could aid in achieving better sleep. A dreamy rendition of Katy Perry’s «Double Rainbow,» for example, could help listeners sleep, while an Imagine song could assist in tackling a to-do list. Apple has long been committed to enabling its customers to lead healthier, more active lives through offerings like Apple Watch, HealthKit, and Apple Fitness+. The company will work closely with Sollos and UMG to continue establishing scientific evidence supporting music and audio for wellness and finding inclusive ways to bring these benefits to people worldwide.

Maintaining Focus

The focus category is designed to support better cognitive performance and concentration, harnessing the power of gamma auditory rhythms to help listeners enter the mindset for optimal focus. White noise masks distracting sounds, aiming to help listeners stay in the moment.
