Aena otorga 1.56 millones para mejorar acceso a llegadas del aeropuerto de Sevilla

Aena has just granted 1,563,300 euros to improve access to the arrivals area at the airport in Seville, in order to adapt them to the new needs identified after the expansion of the terminal building. The work, which is expected to take place over approximately eight months, will be carried out by the company’s MAB division.

According to the project, the works will focus on the roads and the arrival tunnel, as well as the node before parking lot P1. In the first case, the sidewalk, steel restructuring, authorization of smart pedestrian crossings, and replacement of furniture, among other details, will be renewed in a statement.

Furthermore, the intervention includes painting and repairing the tunnel ceiling, while the roads will be reconfigured to improve flow control and traffic management. Regarding the entrance to the parking lot, signage will be incorporated to adapt to the new mood, providing users with enhanced guidance and orientation in the area.

The work also includes the construction of two vertical communication cores to facilitate transit between the arrivals and departures levels. One of them will be located in Patio by Los Naranjos, opposite an existing core, and will feature an elevator and a fixed staircase. The second core will be in the northern area of the tunnel and will have an elevator, a fixed staircase, and a mechanical ramp.

In this sense, special attention will be paid to accessibility for people with reduced mobility. For this reason, Los Naranjos will install an elevator platform in Patio, connecting the «acquisition» parking lot with the new core and the existing one in the same location. The cores will be covered to ensure user protection at all times.

Finally, an automatic door will be opened from the walkway to the departure lounge, and a cleaning treatment will be applied to the facade of the terminal building.
